Little alien invasions that never make the news

Beginning work on the second Zoran Živković short story collection for PS Publishing. The book is titled Twelve Collections and The Teashop, comes with a preface by legendary writer and editor Michael Moorcock, and will be available to bless your shelves sometime later this year, but probably not so soon as to interfere with the publication of Impossible Stories.

Bear in mind that what you are about to see here is in its earliest stages of development, which means certain design elements (or even the design as a whole) may not make it to the printers. It also means that your feedback will be welcomed, and that I will endeavour to incorporate—within reasonable limits, of course—your criticism into the design.

Fans of Z.Ž. may also be happy to learn that the book has been adapted as a series of 10-minute episodes for Serbian television. I haven't seen it (yet), but from what I'm told, it already ran twice this month to enthusiastic reviews. Although the episodes are in Serbian, the DVD carries English subtitles, so at least you can expect an attempt at international distribution.

The concept has a whole looks pretty good!
There are some graphic changes that I would try to make:

The red ampersand looks a bit out of place. I don't know if it's the color or the relative placing with the "Collections" strip...

The box with the author's name seems to be fighting for attention with the background painting.

The chapter name background should be a *little* lighter.

I quite like the title box as it is - it's an interesting, arresting sort of layout that makes me stop and read what it says. I think if the ampersand were any other colour, it would blend in too much with that 'collections' strip ... unless it were hot pink or lime green, I suppose.

Or perhaps non-artistic personnel should just stop trying to help. I'll just be over here playing with some shiny things. :D
